The Office of Safety

The purpose is to provide a safe and secure environment for the students, staff, and families of the Atlanta Public Schools District. This basic and essential need is of the highest importance to ensure success for students. 

With a student-centered focus, Atlanta Public Schools launched in-house Office of Safety and Security in the 2016-2017 school year. That bold new step included a new Police Department with 24/7 Dispatch Center, Safety Operations which includes: Access Badging; Criminal Records; and Emergency Management.

Providing a SAFE. SECURE. STRONG. learning environment also includes assessing and addressing all the physical needs of APS Schools and properties around the clock; preventing loss and damage.
